It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas!

 December is finally here and I am really starting to feel the rush to get all of my ideas out of my head and into reality before it's too late.

I must admit... I had more fun trimming this miniature tree than I think I will ever have trimming a real-life tree.  

Every single individually strung ornament has the fun modern-vintage prints and patterns I love most.

There are Mittens and stockings and houses and ovens and dots and floral and a little bit of Cath Kidston thrown here and there.... and all in one tree.... oh how I love this mix and match of modern-vintage-retro charm.

I wanted it to burst of reds and turquoise.  Some of the presents feature vintage gift wrap and some have a more modern touch... like the holiday owls... but I think they all pair up quite nicely together and I hope you do too :o)

Retro Oven Cupcake Box in 1:6 Scale Miniature

I saw these cute Retro Oven Cupcake Boxes for Real-Life Use...
and had to try my hand at creating a template of my own design and graphics for 1:6 Scale. 

They pair up soooo perfectly with Catherine's 1:6 Playscale Cupcakes.

These are alot of work to put together... I have to precision cut them, score and fold them and then the tricky part is gluing the box together, because it's so itty bitty small.  

But for me... these are soooo worth their hassle... when you see the finished product.... and with a cupcake inside.. they are just too darn cute!

I am having so much fun displaying these and I think you might too.  So I hope to have a set of 4 ready for my Etsy shop later on today :o)  Until next time.

1:6 Playscale Pedestal Candy Jars

I made some 1:6 Playscale Pedestal Candy Jars over the weekend.

What I love about them is that they are so versatile and can be filled with so many different goodies.  

Now I need to go make some pretty candy to go inside.  I used whatever I had on hand for now, but it will be alot of fun to make some pretty pastel colored candy to go inside.

Cupcakes, Napkin Holders & Tiered Stands

 This week I received magical little cupcakes and Macarons from the amazing Catherine over at www.etsy.com/shop/SweetPetiteShoppe.  I just LoVe using them in my scenes and they just make me soooo happy just looking at them.

This week I decided to make a few minis to use with them:

Napkin Holders, pretty Paper Napkins and Tiered Stands.

1:6 Playscale KitchenAid Mixer Citrus Juice Attachment

I thought about what would be the prettiest attachment for my 1:6 Playscale KitchenAid Mixer... 

and out of all the attachments... I really love the Citrus Juicer.  

It doesn't protrude too much and looks really good when creating scenes where fresh squeezed lemon or orange juice is needed.  I believe I'm going to have alot of fun with this optional attachment :o)

In real life they only come in White... but I bet a pale pink one will be very pretty too!

 

 

1:6 Playscale KitchenAid Mixer in Martha Stewart Blue

Hello Hello Hello, I sure hope you haven't forgotten about little ole' me ;o)

It's been a super busy month... or two, and I just had to take a moment to snap a picture of my latest Playscale KitchenAid Mixer, painted in a lovely shade of Martha Stewart Blue.

I have been busy filling orders and trying to stock my Etsy Shop with pretty new minis and haven't been able to post in a while... but I sure hope you enjoy seeing these few pictures on Frosting and Decorating Cookies.

1:6 Scale Miniature Filled Cereal Storage Containers

Ok, so I have finally decided on how to display the 1:6 Playscale Cereal I made from my last blog post.

I wanted to be able to display them in a way that would showcase them, not hide them in a cereal box or accidentally lose them from the bowl (believe me, the kids and I are still finding tiny pieces of cereal under my work desk... lol. They're so tiny.
 

I think these Cereal Storage Containers look very realistic and are in perfect 1:6 scale... which is so hard to come by... they are a wonderfully perfect fit.  And of course it wouldn't be complete without the Chalkboard Labels... hmmm.... but I still can't decide if I like those or the Shabby Chic Floral Labels best :o)

1:12 and 1:6 Scale Exremely Detailed Individual Pieces of Cereal

I spent quite a bit of time individually hand-sculpting these cereals... but it was so worth it to me... 

they look completely realistic and are sooooo itsy bitsy teeny tiny in size.

Each individual piece is hand sculpted from polymer clay, then shaded one by one with pastels and chalks to mimic the coated sugar look that these cereals have.  Some also have a satin finish applied for a subtle satiny look seen on cereals.

I think the biggest challenge in making these is getting each individual piece to be the same in shape and size, so that when shown all together in a bowl, they have a cohesive look that adds to their realism in miniature.  

Except for for the Raisin Bran... where each individual flake and raisin has to look different in shape and size to mimic the real life raisin bran cereal.
